Summer might be heating up, but we’ve got some exciting new tools, updates, and savings to help you keep your cool in the lab. First up: Search by Sequence has launched! BLAST-based searching is now live on the Addgene search bar – just another way we help get you to your results faster. And be sure to let us know how it's working for you!
We're excited to partner with Promega to distribute a novel set of over 300 plasmids to both academic and industry researchers. The collection includes sensitive luciferase reporter constructs and human ORF-tag fusion plasmids for analyzing protein interactions and signaling pathways. Order these materials as either classic bacterial stabs or choose 20 µg DNA aliquots so you can save valuable time. And this is just the beginning; another 300+ plasmids are coming soon!
Nearly half of Addgene deposits start on hold and we're honored to be entrusted with your pre-publication work. To help ensure your plasmids don't stay in limbo forever though, we've updated our hold policy. As of July 1, 2025, we'll still eagerly await your request to release them, but we'll also release materials if:
The plasmids are clearly described in a published article, or
To continue providing the high-quality plasmids and rigorous QC standards you’ve come to expect, we’ll be implementing a modest price increase effective August 1, 2025. As a nonprofit, our goal remains unchanged: to support the scientific community with reliable, affordable materials. This annual update helps ensure we can maintain the level of service, quality control, and support that researchers around the world rely on. Thank you for being part of the Addgene community.
